You can book a taxi in Beijing using several methods: hail one on the street, use popular ride-hailing apps like DiDi, or call local taxi services. Additionally, you can book a taxi through WeChat or Alipay.

The most common taxi-hailing app in China is DiDi, also known as DiDi Chuxing. It’s similar to Uber and is available in English.

If you download DiDi from an app store, you’ll need to enter a Chinese mobile phone number and connect to a method of payment. Alternatively, if you’re using Alipay for payments, open Alipay on your smartphone and click DiDi Taxi (or “More” to find it).

While waiting for the driver you can see the driver information and location of the car. You can also call or send messages to the driver, cancel the trip and share the trip. The taxi fare will be deducted automatically from your payment account after the trip.
